Animal ID: #475Betty (female)

Horse    Age: Adult

Health: Vaccinations Current, Heaves

Betty is a 13 year old Standardbred Chestnut mare. She came to us after receiving a call from a Fountain County resident on February 16, 2016 about her being left abandoned by her owner. The true story usually comes out after we start talking to people. Betty was bought from an Amish Auction in October 2015 after being rtired from being a buggy horse. The person who purchased Betty gave her to his daughter's boyfriend after repayment of the purchasing cost. Well the daughter & boyfriend split up, he moved out, and left Betty there with the family. The family had contacted him numerous times to come & pick her up & take her, he refused to ... (Read More)pick her up or return phone calls. They tried sending her back to the Amish & they refused her stating as far as they were concernedit was his horse. Betty has been diagnosed with Heaves when we got her & was started on Albuteral Sulfate for oral suspension at the dosage of 10cc twice daily. We are working on getting her on a management program to help her heaves. Heavs is a chronic, non-incectious airway condition for horses that is also called recurrent airway obstruction. This disease occurs in horses more than 6 years old & is the result of an alllergic reaction to inhaled particles. Betty looves attention from people, loads & unloads very well, stands great for a farrier to get her feet trimmed, & takes Albuteral smoothly. Betty doesnt get too excited with new things & situations. She is curious of new things. She adjusts to new herds well. Betty has had a couple set backs but has healed & still looking for a new home. Contact HHH for more information.. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-10-00492Danika (female)

Pit Bull    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Danika was an owner surrender because her family was moving away & couldn't or wouldn't take her with them. Hoosier Hooves & Hounds were contacted by Fulton County, IN about taking her in. Fulton County knew it would be hard to adopt a Pit Bull in their area. At the time we already had 30 dogs in our rescue, but knew it was in our best interest to take Danica to give her a chance at a better life. Since Danica has been with us she has had several other dogs she could play with in the play yard. All 3 of them have since found their forever homes, now Danika plays in the yard by herself. She is pretty laid back & calm in her cage, but some ... (Read More)days she can be jumpy & barky. She does not do well with cats at all. She is good with kids of all ages. She loves all kinds of attention, most days we find her sun bathing in the yard & lately playing in the pool we have in the yard. She is a people watcher. She has been waiting for someone like you to give her a new home. This girl has been waiting for quite some time now. She is fun to play with in the yard & chase. Rescue Me ID: 16-07-10-00435Walker (male)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Walker is an active boy who loves to be around people. He is good with most other dogs & great with kids. He is not good with cats. Walker has been with 3 families that we know of in the last 3 months. His original owner had him for 4 years and then gave him away because life got to be to much and they had no time for him. His second family who got him from the first family had to give Walker up because they were expecting twins and knew it would be too much to handle after only having him for 2 months. The final family who got Walker from his second family was irresponsible. They only had him for 2 hours, didnt allow him time to adjust ... (Read More)and settle in. They instead bought him to the rescue, lying the whole time about where he came from. Thanks to the power of social media we were able to find out most of his history. Walker is neutered & current on shots. His adoption fee is $150.00 (Less)

Treeing Walker Coonhound    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bruce was surrendered to Pals 4 Paws hoping they could find him a home. His dad could not take care of him any longer, or even himself. We were contacted because the rescue that had him has a hard time finding homes for Coonhounds. So Hoosier Hooves & Hounds took Bruce into their rescue. When Bruce got to our rescue he was in desperate need of some groceries. He weighed in at 32 pounds. He still needs to put on some more weight. That should not be an issue for Bruce, he does not turn down anything. He is crate trained, loves going for walks, he would do best in a home with no cats because he likes them a little to much. He does well ... (Read More)with other dogs but keep in mind I am still a puppy & I do want to play with most other dogs i meet & not all dogs are so welcoming to that. He loves to play with tennis balls & chew bones. He is good with kids & loves car rides & does well. My adoption fee is $125.00. (Less)

Diamond is a blue Pit Bull that came to Hoosier Hooves & Hounds Rescue after we received a call from Animal Control that a vicious dog wad running the streets in town. Diamond was part od a split up of her owners. He was left behind because neither could take him. Eventually her mom called the rescue for help in finding her a better home where she would be safe. Diamond is a very sweet girl, she loves everybody she comes in contact with. Her only down fall is she DOES NOT get along with any other animal of any kind. Sadly this has caused many to look over me and not give me the opportunity of a loving, caring home that i long for. I have ... (Read More)been amazing with kids as young as 3 years old.
